My  upcoming piece of prose is titled "Esperanza". Esperanza means hope in Spanish, and this short story is about a twelve year old refugee leaving Venezuela with his family. Although this story is merely fictional, it's events are currently taking place right now, in real life. Many of you must know about the unfortunate crisis happening in Venezuela, and it is my hope that this story will help bring attention to the matter. Through the story, readers get to view the protagonist Alix's version of the events, as he treks to Columbia with his family.

Stay updated, and to those celebrating, happy Canada Day!
